In this video I cover the way the backstab mechanic functions in Dark Souls 2 and touch on some of the typical perceptions on how it can appear sometimes, mo
Can be given to Kingseeker Frampt to receive 50 Souls. Very similar to the normal Dagger. It deals slightly better critical hits and inflicts Bleed, but can only perform slashing attacks. Powerful weapon for Dexterity builds, elemental or not. With the 147 critical modifier, backstabs and ripostes will deal extremely high damage. Critical strikes are backstabs and riposte. Backstab. Attacking an enemy from their back at close range will lead to a powerful backstab attack. Backstab attacks deal a huge amount of damage, so it’s always worth trying to do. The attack animation lasts for a short while, but you're invincible while in the animation.

For Dark Souls on the PlayStation 3, a GameFAQs message board topic titled "How would you like to see backstabs handled in the next Souls game?".

And then you can be that guy who chain backstabs a dark bead mage to death just to show them they came to the wrong world c: Yeah, but there will be people out there who don't quite like the taste of using a tactic like chain backstabbing in order to win in PvP. IMO you're much better off playing Ds2 for PvP.

For Dark Souls on the PlayStation 3, a GameFAQs message board topic titled "How to counter laggy backstabs?" - Page 3. Essentially, if you have a super powerful slow weapon, the damage done would be greater for a regular attack than for a backstab. For elemental heavy weapons, a backstab would do pitiful damage. Rapiers and daggers would do the extra base, but their damage modifiers would be higher too.
1 Avoid PVP Until You're More Confident. Dark Souls’ primary campaign is singleplayer, but it’s also – technically – always a multiplayer, online experience. At practically any point in the game, another player can invade your campaign and trigger a PVP (Player Vs Player) battle.
Dark souls isn't a fighting game. And I'm not talking exclusively about bugs. I'm talking about the shit backstab mechanic, which is instant and has no startup animation at all (i.e., telegraphing, which is what DS is all about.), and the requirement to abuse a bug to combat how incredibly easy it is to abuse that shit mechanic. In this game, as opposed to say, Dark Souls 3, the back stabber gets preference over the victim, even if host. So if they get the back stab on their screen, even if you've rolled far away, they will get the backstab. Works for you too. It's pretty terrible. Backstab setups are generally objective and will work under any connection. If you are getting backstabbed repeatedly, look for a connection like "swinging a third time" or something like that, that's getting you backstabbed.
Invasions using a dexterity build in which i happened to get a lot of backstabs.🎮 TWITCH http://www.twitch.tv/chasethebroo📱 DISCORD
Greathammer class backstabs on flat ground frequently get three hits of full damage, resulting in much higher damage than even backstabs of more powerful strength weapons. (For example, I've only ever cleared 1.5k backstab damage with my Large Club +10, never with my 50-higher-AR Greatsword +10. The two numbers that stick in my mind are a 1920 Q59B.
